Low-dose naltrexone (LDN) is a medication that has been used since the 1980s to treat opioid addiction. It works by blocking the opioid receptors in the brain, reducing cravings and helping to prevent relapse. The standard dose for LDN is 1.5 mg per day, taken orally as a capsule or tablet. LDN is also used off-label to treat a variety of medical conditions, including autoimmune diseases and chronic pain.

Naltrexone hydrochloride is a relatively pure and long-lasting opioid antagonist. Oral naltrexone has been used to treat opioid dependence for many years and has been approved to treat alcohol use disorders (AUDs) since 1994. Naltrexone reduces both the rewarding effects of alcohol and craving for it.

 LDN is sometimes used for the management of chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia and neuropathic pain. It is believed to work by modulating the immune system and reducing inflammation.
Autoimmune Diseases: Some people use LDN to manage autoimmune conditions like multiple sclerosis, Crohn's disease, and rheumatoid arthritis. It is thought to have immunomodulatory effects that may help in these conditions.
Neurological Conditions: There is ongoing research into the potential use of LDN for neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease, although its effectiveness in these conditions is not well-established

Acamprosate is commonly used to help people with alcohol use disorder who have already stopped drinking maintain their ability not to drink. 

Acamprosate may also be used for other conditions as determined by your healthcare provider.
