This medication is a hormone (estrogen). It is used by women to help reduce symptoms of menopause (such as hot flashes, vaginal dryness). These symptoms are caused by the body making less estrogen.

Danazol is used in endometriosis, heavy menstrual bleedingt is used to treat endometriosis and non-cancerous fibrocystic breast disease in adult patients not responding to other treatments.
It is also used to prevent attacks of angioedema in patients with hereditary angioedema disorde and benign fibrocystic breast disease.
